Post-war style reinvented

THE mood for autumn-winter is edgy and boyish in contrast with feminine and luxurious allure, typical in all Anna Thomas collections.

Blends of strong colour, bold print, richly textured tweed and luxurious cosy winter fabrics, come in some very new silhouettes for winter.

A key hue is the winter tangerine, ideally paired with sophisticated and sleek grey, black and winter white.

Then there is the inclusion of bold bright red, black and winter palette of purple, grape and pink, mixed softly with charcoal.

Trousers make a comeback, with the pleated cropped shape in flannel and slim shape with man-style cuff in wool-chalk stripe.

Comfortable wool stretch lends a tuxedo feeling worn with 40s style floral cotton ottoman nipped-in jacket. Coats are still huge, with a beautiful selection of coloured meltons, boiled wools, chunky tweed and sleek shower proof cotton twill and nylon creating great outerwear in new, exciting shapes.

Jackets follow the coat theme with an emphasis on feminine 40s shapes in tweeds and raw baby lock edges in smooth charcoal flannel.

Skirts are a mix of soft silky printed styles and thick tweedy shapes, complete with signature trimmings.

The classic knitted collection is essential in fine merino, through to lightweight wool cashmere used for delicate cardigans and tops.

Sophisticated eveningwear is strong in washed silk satin shapes, twisted hem dress, one-shouldered draped top and a simple camisole to be worn with silk velvet drawstring trousers.

The 50s silhouette is prevalent, with divine little black dresses in washed silk and jersey, complete with shrugs.Desmond Eddy
