Nervous time in the stands

I MENTIONED in my column last week that I’m not very good at sitting on the sidelines and that was definitely the case on Friday night.

The 1-0 win over Adelaide United was a fantastic effort from the boys and we deserved the three points but I’ll be happy to be out on the pitch with them this weekend after a nervous 90 minutes in the stands.

Our battles against Adelaide have always been tight and that was again the case.

A special mention has to go our defence which worked overtime, particularly Tando Velaphi in goal.

Tando is a great young keeper and he has made some dramatic saves this season and his quality was on show for all to see as he repelled a desperate Adelaide outfit.

We’re in a good position on the ladder at the moment but now face another tough two-game stretch on the road.

We will take confidence out of our last road double where we took all six points.

That will again be the aim.

This Sunday it’s a meeting with Gold Coast United.

We were bitterly disappointed when they snatched a late equaliser last time we met, we felt they stole two points from us and we’ll be going there to take those back this weekend.

Just to end I’d like to say how impressed I have all been with the support we get from our fans at home.

You really give us a lift and we will all keep working hard to reward you with winning footbal
