Flood of concerns prompt push for traffic modification review

09/Feb/2010

Comments:

CITY of Stirling councillors Jason Robbins and Bill Stewart are pushing for a review into traffic modification works in the Scarborough area following a community forum late last month.

The two said they had been “overwhelmed with responses” from residents and business owners who had expressed concerns about traffic flow and pedestrian safety in the area.

Cr Robbins last week moved a notice of motion for consideration at next Tuesday’s council meeting, calling for the City to “review the decision and impact on the residents, businesses, beach and road users due to the roadworks currently taking place.”

Stirling planning director Ross Povey last week told the Stirling Times the City would only review the situation following new vehicle counts six months after the completion of the works.
