Preparing for baby

Where on earth do you get bassinette mattress protectors?

Exactly how big a nappy bag will I need and how much is a reasonable amount to pay for one?

How many grow suits will I need and should I get them all in 0000, or should I go straight to 000?

These (and many more like them) are the questions going through my head right now.

I think I’m doing okay though.

I crossed lots of items off my list last week and weekend, including packing my bag for hospital.

At eight weeks to go, this might be a tad premature, but I don’t like things hanging over me.

I learned that just over a year ago with my wedding.

Before the big day, I had a week off.

Picturing seven days of relaxing cups of tea with mum, hair trials and getting my nails done I was quite looking forward to it.

The reality was quite different to that.

All the tiny little jobs I saved up thinking ‘oh this will only take five minutes’ ballooned into a massive list of tasks that kept mum and I running at a million miles an hour for the whole week.

Not something I want with a seven pound baby wiggling away inside me, threatening to make her entry into the world at any minute.

Those precious last weeks between the end of work and the birth of our baby will be the last chance I get to truly relax for a long time, so I don’t want to waste them worrying if I have enough booties.

I am sorry if I offend anyone but this blog is simply ridiculous. I have been following it for a few months now and I think the blogger must be suffering from severe boredom to be making this information public. I have several friends who are currently pregnant and while they have embraced it wholeheartedly, I have never heard anyone of them discuss trivialities such as where one buys bassinette mattress protectors LET ALONE blog about it. I have no doubt this baby will bring enormous joy into your life. However, until then, please spare us.
